What to see

The Vieux Bassin, the old harbour surrounded by narrow, tall houses, is the heart of Honfleur and a favourite of painters. Nearby, Sainte-Catherine is the largest wooden church in France, built by shipwrights after the Hundred Years' War, with a separate bell tower.

Honfleur was the birthplace of Eugène Boudin, a mentor of Monet; the Eugène Boudin Museum shows his work and that of other painters of the Normandy coast.
