Types of tour
- Tours from Bayeux: the widest choice, with morning, afternoon and full-day tours in minivans. Many pick up from hotels or near the station.
- Tours from Caen: often combined with a visit to the Caen Memorial museum.
- Day trips from Paris: coach or minivan tours that usually focus on Omaha Beach, the American Cemetery and Pointe du Hoc; see D-Day beaches from Paris.
- Private tours: a guide and vehicle just for your group, ideal for following a relative's unit or a particular sector.
- Bike tours: guided or self-guided rides between the beaches on quiet lanes and the coastal Vélomaritime cycle route.
American, British or Canadian sector?
Most tours focus on one sector. American sector tours cover Omaha, the American Cemetery, Pointe du Hoc, Utah and Sainte-Mère-Église. British and Canadian tours cover Gold, Juno, Sword, Arromanches and Pegasus Bridge. With two days you can do both.
